Secure Home Base:

A Work from Home Cybersecurity Challenge

An immersive cybersecurity challenge tailored for remote workers and organizations adapting to the modern workplace landscape.

Ready to face the challenge?

  • Audience

Remote professionals and organizations with a remote workforce.

  • Tools Used

Articulate Storyline 360, Photoshop, Notion, OpenAi, Canva, AWS.

  • Responsibilities

Instructional design, eLearning development, action mapping, storyboarding, visual design, authoring.

  • The Problem

In the transition to remote work, a mid-sized tech company encountered a surge in cybersecurity incidents within their remote workforce. They emphasized the potential risks associated with poorly secured home workspaces.

  • The Solution

After analyzing staff behaviors to pinpoint the issue, it became clear that poor cybersecurity practices at home were a significant factor. As employees grow accustomed to their home environments, they may inadvertently adopt lax security measures. To mitigate the issue, I proposed creating an interactive refresher training program focused on highlighting potential vulnerabilities and promoting best home cybersecurity practices.

Compose It

In the writing and storyboarding phase, I leveraged Notion to meticulously write and organize voiceover scripts, interactive pop-up content, and formulate quiz questions and answers. This process involved a deep dive into content creation, ensuring each piece was engaging and educational. Utilizing OpenAI, I enhanced the course's narratives and scenarios, bringing a layer of depth and realism to the simulations.

Design It

The vision for this project was to create an interactive office space with a setup familiar to our target audience. To bring the virtual home office to life, I crafted prompts to generate AI visuals of the office workspace and further refined the generated image using Photoshop. Utilizing Canva, I created interactive pop-up elements that emerge upon learners' interactions with specific items in the office, incorporating the written content created in the drafting phase.

Develop It

Building on the foundation laid by earlier design templates and scripts, I moved forward with developing the interactive course in Storyline 360. This phase involved programming button actions, setting up triggers, and using my scripts to create AI voiceovers and captions for each scene. I designed the checkpoint and final quiz, incorporating characters into each scene to reinforce learning concepts. After assembling the course, I conducted thorough testing to ensure a seamless and engaging learning experience for all users.

Launch It!

With the course fully developed and tested, launching it became the final step. I utilized AWS to host the course, allowing learners from anywhere to engage with the content seamlessly.
